Gas infrastructure company makes growth potential transparent
A large Dutch gas infrastructure company identified external growth opportunities for its research and consultancy division. It sold the division to another player in the field of energy certification, research and consultancy. The new parent company wanted to know if the growth potential was indeed as big as expected. They were also interested in knowing which services and what expertise would be required to actually realize that growth and how it could all be organized and structured. Squarewise provided them with the answers and got the new venture off to a flying start.Squarewise developed a research instrument for testing knowledge and innovation potential. It also provided advice on managing and structuring the organization. By combining objective strategic analysis with real commitment from the internal organization, a realistic and fully backed business plan could be drawn up.
It also marked the introduction of the market focus in the organization. The ambition for growth was made operational and specific and was subsequently tested in the new situation. Moreover, to ensure a sustainable and anchored result, the organizational structure was modified. It was now possible to make informed and widely backed choices in terms of the external focus, resulting in a flying start within the new parent company.
